Panos Caribbean is currently accepting applications for a fellowship to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa. The conference will be held from November 28 – December 9, 2011.
Under the Voices for Climate Change Education project being implemented by Panos Caribbean and the National Environmental Education Committee (NEEC), there is a grant to cover the cost of travel of one or possibly two participants to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Durban, South Africa.
Criteria for selection:
1. This applicant should have been working in the area of climate change for more than one year.
2. The applicant should be able to eloquently express the climate issues affecting Jamaica.
3. The applicant should be willing to share the lessons learnt from this experience at a variety of fora after the meeting.
Interested persons should submit a one page bio or resume and an application letter outlining why they would like to go to Durban.
The application letter should indicate:
The nature of your work regarding climate change
How going to Durban will help your work on climate change
Your suggestions for carrying forward the outcomes from Durban in Jamaica upon your return.
